Nanning, Guangxi - a medium sized Chinese City (~=2 million ppl) Typical mix of China awesomeness & kitsch commercial capitalist overload.
About 6hrs south of Yangshuo by bus
Has international Airport.
You're coming here cause you're getting a connection through to Kunming or getting Visa's for Vietnam.
about 100 routes. limestone. 5.7 to 5.13d. Climbing is about 1 hour on bus from city centre - when the road is fixed (in a year?) it'll be much faster.
* Accomodation:
Many cheap hotels & hostels... but if you're coming for climbing you're going to want to stay in WuMing...
